The Nutrition Diagnosis Etiology Matrix is designed to help Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) accurately choose etiologies within the standardized framework of the Nutrition Care Process (NCP). By blending standardized terminology for nutrition diagnoses with highly individualized clinical judgment for root causes, this tool preserves personalized client care while ensuring accuracy and consistency.  This updated tool provides case examples of high, medium, and low quality of PES (Problem-Etiology-Signs/Symptoms) statements.  Using the matrix can improve nutrition care documentation and also enhance nutrition outcomes tracking.

eNCPT subscribers can access the Nutrition Diagnosis Etiology Matrix by logging into the site and clicking the Matrices tab on the top navigation panel.
